Checked 3 November 2026. Start work before the letter of offer and you lose the grant.

Does the installer have to be SEAI registered?

For the grant, yes: SEAI only pays when an SEAI-registered company does the work and it's the company named in your letter of offer.

From SEAI Solar PV Scheme Application Guide, v6.0, 12 Oct 2026 (read 3 Nov 2026). SEAI doesn't approve, guarantee or warrant any company or its work, so read the quote line by line (SEAI, Solar Electricity Grant page (read 2 Nov 2026)). You need to own the home (private landlords count), have an MPRN, and the home must have been built and occupied before 2025. SEAI can't have paid for solar PV at that MPRN before. Use an SEAI-registered company, get SEAI's letter of offer before any work starts, finish within 8 months, and have a BER done after the install (SEAI Solar PV Scheme Application Guide, v6.0, 12 Oct 2026 (read 3 Nov 2026)).

What should a Wexford solar quote include?
